Summary: NEXO is an educational clinical reasoning game, not a medical device. By using the application or web platform, you agree to these terms. The cases presented are fictional and do not constitute medical advice.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the NEXO application (iOS) or the web platform at nexo.wiki.br, you declare that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any provision, do not use the service.

These Terms constitute a binding contract between you and Aphelios Group ("NEXO", "us"), owner and operator of the NEXO application and web platform. Continued use after updates published on this page implies acceptance of the changes.

2. Service Description

NEXO is a educational game clinical diagnosis based on fictitious cases with ICD-10 proximity feedback. The application is aimed at medical students, residents and healthcare professionals who want to practice diagnostic reasoning in a playful way.

NEXO is not a medical device. The clinical cases are fictitious, prepared for educational purposes and reviewed by doctors before publication. The application does not provide actual diagnoses, reports or clinical guidance. No content on NEXO should be construed as medical advice.

The service includes:

  • One fictitious clinical case per day, with up to 6 progressive clues
  • ICD-10 Proximity Feedback in 5 Levels
  • Archive of past cases (paid plans)
  • Training mode with cases by specialty (paid plans)
  • Cases by continent with regional endemic diseases
  • Global leaderboard and private groups
  • Synapse Economy: Built-in currency to unlock features
  • ICD-10 classification search in 6 languages

The service is available on the iOS app and on nexo.wiki.br/jogar. Progress is synced across platforms by logging in with the same account.

3. User Accounts

Access to NEXO requires authentication via Sign in with Apple or Google. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide true and up-to-date information
  • Maintain the security of your access credentials
  • Do not share your account with third parties
  • Notify immediately in case of unauthorized access

Each person can only create one account. Creating multiple accounts to gain an advantage in the game is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension.

You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account (in the app) or by contacting us via email. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

4. Subscriptions, Payments and Synapses

4.1 Available plans

NEXO offers a free plan and two paid plans:

  • NEXO Pro: 30 training cases/month, 200 synapses/month, 3 streak freezes/month, groups of up to 15 people.
  • NEXO Max: unlimited training cases, 500 synapses/month, unlimited streak freezes, groups of up to 30 people, up to 3 members on the family plan.

4.2 Payments in the iOS app

Subscriptions and iOS in-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) and managed by RevenueCat Inc. under Apple and RevenueCat's terms.

  • Charge: The amount is charged to your App Store account at the time of confirmation and each renewal period.
  • Automatic renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the contracted period, unless canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Cancellation (iOS): Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → NEXO → Cancel. Access to the plan remains active until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds (iOS): managed exclusively by Apple in accordance with App Store policy.

4.3 Payments on the web platform

Subscriptions purchased at nexo.wiki.br are processed by Stripe, Inc. using credit card or other available payment methods.

  • Charge: the amount is charged to the card provided at the time of confirmation and at each renewal period.
  • Automatic renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the start of the next cycle.
  • Cancellation (web): visit nexo.wiki.br/paywall and use the subscription management portal. Access to the plan remains active until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds (web): Refund requests must be sent to contact@nexo.wiki.br within 7 calendar days of the charge.

4.4 Synapses

Synapses are NEXO's internal virtual credits with no redeemable monetary value. They can be obtained through gameplay (hits, sequences) or purchased in separate packages available in the application. Synapses do not expire, but are account-bound and non-transferable. In case of account deletion, accumulated synapses are discarded without refund.

4.5 Trial period

When available, the free trial period is granted once per account. At the end of the period, the subscription starts automatically unless previously canceled.

4.6 Price changes

Prices can be changed with at least 30 days' notice via the app or by email.

5. Intellectual Property

All NEXO content, including clinical cases, texts, interface, logos, source code, adapted ICD-10 database and content generated with the aid of artificial intelligence, is the property of Aphelios Group or licensed by third parties. All rights reserved.

It is prohibited, without prior written authorization:

  • Reproduce, copy or redistribute NEXO clinical cases
  • Reverse engineer the application or web platform
  • Use NEXO content to train artificial intelligence models
  • Create derivative works based on application content
  • Use the NEXO brand without express authorization
  • Automated scrape any part of the service

6. User Conduct

When using NEXO, you agree not to:

  • Use scripts, bots or any automation to game or manipulate rankings
  • Exploit technical flaws to gain undue advantage
  • Post offensive, discriminatory or illegal content in your profile name
  • Trying to access data from other users or internal NEXO systems
  • Interfere with the functioning of the service by any means
  • Share daily case responses before cycle closes

Violations may result in permanent account suspension or termination, with no refund of active subscription or accrued Synapse credits.

7. Medical Notice

NEXO is exclusively an educational and entertainment tool. Clinical cases are fictional and simplified for game purposes. The application content:

  • Does not replace formal medical training or clinical supervision
  • Does not constitute diagnosis, prescription or clinical guidance
  • Should not be used in the context of caring for real patients
  • Not subject to medical device regulation (ANVISA, FDA or similar)

In medical emergency situations, immediately call SAMU (192) or Firefighters (193).

8. Service Availability

NEXO is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We can perform scheduled or emergency maintenance at any time. We strive to communicate planned outages in advance via the app.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Brazilian law, NEXO is not responsible for:

  • Clinical decisions made based on any content in the application
  • Service interruptions due to maintenance, technical failures or external factors
  • Data loss due to account deletion or sync issues
  • Loss of synapses, streak or progress due to user device failure
  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages of any nature

10. Closing

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for your violation of these Terms. In the event of termination due to violation, there will be no pro-rata refund of active subscription or return of synapses.

You can close your account at any time through the app. Termination does not generate the right to a proportional refund for the contracted period.

11. Applicable Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. To protect personal data, the General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018) applies.

The forum of the District of Porto Alegre, RS is elected to resolve any disputes arising from these Terms, waiving any other, however privileged it may be.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Relevant changes will be communicated via the app at least 7 days in advance. Continued use after this period implies acceptance.
